Joining a WebEx Meeting
This article describes how to access/obtain Webex, the audio and web conferencing tool that offers a set of services that provides audio, video, and text options. Accessed via the web, participants may share files or use screen sharing to show presentations, applications, or other web sites. It also provides basic troubleshooting and options for additional assistance.
Install the Cisco WebEX Meetings app from the MIT Software icon on your computer desktop (Macintosh and Home PC users can download the Cisco WebEx Meetings app here.)
Double-click on the Cisco Webex Meetings app icon on your computer desktop.
Log into the Cisco Webex Meetings app using your MIT email address, kerberos username, password, and DUO two-factor authentication.
If your are asked for your WebEx site enter mit.webex.com
Joining a Webex meeting using the Webex Meetings app is preferred to clicking a Webex link in your email. "To join a meeting, click in the Join a Meeting field to select a recent Personal Room or to enter a meeting number, meeting link, video address, or the host's Personal Room ID."
When you start or join a meeting, you'll see the Audio and Video Connection page. On this page, you can choose how to connect your audio and video. Unless you are using a headset with a dedicated microphone I would choose to have WebEx Call Me.
If you choose to Call Using Computer, use the More Options link to test your computer audio settings before you connect.
WebEx meetings can be scheduled from the Schedule button, or by visiting mit.webex.com. Scheduled meetings you have been invited to will appear in the upcoming meetings section of the Cisco WebEx Meetings App
There is a lot more to using the Cisco Webex Meetings app. Look for useful tutorials and other documentation at the WebEx Help Center.
