The Options for Wheels When You Want Them Are Expanding

MIT employees and students now have more of a selection when they need a vehicle for short-term use. Sign up for a Zipcar or try a RelayRide. Both options provide you with a vehicle without your having to buy one.

RelayRides

Learn how to share your car when you are not using it. Or find out how to access a vehicle from someone in the MIT neighborhood. This option for a car when you need one connects people with owners whose vehicles would otherwise just be sitting idle. Search for cars to share on MIT campus. RelayRides is not affiliated with MIT, but it is an available carsharing option for our community members.

Zipcar

MIT hosts 13 Zipcars on campus and sponsors Zipcar memberships for staff and students. An MIT sponsored member pays no application fee, no security deposit and just a $25.00 annual fee.

How to Apply

Sign up for a Zipcar account online. Parking, insurance and gas are included in the hourly and daily rates. Zipcars can be used by the hour or the day. Reserve online any time, pick up the car and drive.
