For student groups, all events, programs, or other activities where minors (those 17 years of age or younger) will be present must be registered with the Student Activities Office. This excludes minors who are currently registered and enrolled MIT students.
Students are required to pick up or print out the Events with Minors packet, and complete the Risk Assessment Form at least two months prior to the planned activity. Form can be found at http://studentlife.mit.edu/sao/event-planning/safety. Once the form has been completed, students should submit it to the SAO and make an appointment. The focus of the meeting will be clarification of policies, review of best practices, and approval of the activity.
Once the Risk Assessment Form has been signed off on by the SAO, the student planner(s) will still need to complete an Event Registration Form.
