NSE students graduate from Gordon-MIT Engineering Leadership Program

2013 NSE GELs

Four NSE students were among 59 across the Institute who were awarded Gordon-MIT Engineering Leadership Program Certificates this week. Cameron McCord and Ekaterina Paramonova received Advanced Certificates of Engineering Leadership for successfully completing the requirements of the two-year Bernard M. Gordon-MIT Engineering Leadership Program. Cameron French and Jake Jurewicz earned Certificates of Engineering Leadership for completing their first year in the program. French and Jurewicz will start the second year program in fall 2013.

The requirements for the Gordon program include:

  • participating in and leading weekly immersive Engineering Leadership Labs
  • completing required courses in Engineering Leadership, Engineering Innovation & Design, Project Engineering, and People and Organizations  
  • completing a reflective Personal Leadership Development Plan and
  • delivering to program staff individual presentations of their personal leadership development in GEL 

Program Director Professor Joel Schindall congratulated the awardees on their accomplishments: "You've given yourselves a head start on your colleagues who are beginning careers in engineering through the skills you have learned in GEL and your diligent application to the study and practice of engineering leadership. You should be proud of what you've accomplished, both personally, professionally, and on behalf of the Institute."
