Jared Conway ’19

What were your interests in high school?
I played football all four years in high school and wrestled for two. I was also involved in various student leadership organizations aimed at improving the local, regional, and state educational systems.

What is your favorite activity outside of the classroom?
My favorite out of class activity is going out on my friend’s boat during the summer. Tubing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and cruising around all day is hard to beat.

Why did you decide to major in course 22?
I chose course 22 because I have always been fascinated with the power behind a single atom and am interested in bringing nuclear power to the forefront of global energy production.

What is you most memorable experience so far as a course 22 student?
My most memorable experience in course 22 thus far has been interacting with professors on my UROP team who are world leaders in their field and meeting upperclassmen undergrads in the department that are unbelievably welcoming and helpful.

What would you like to do after graduating?
Following graduation, I would like to serve in the Navy as an officer for at least a five year period. Following my service, I would like to create a company that does something revolutionary in the nuclear field.
