Integrated Photonic Devices and Materials Group

Joe Ahadian was a member of Prof. Kolodziejski's and Prof. Fonstad's research group from 1993 to 1996 and Prof. Fonstad's research group from 1996 to 2000 earning a Ph.D. in 2000 and a Masters in Science in 1995 from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He conducted research in the design, growth and fabrication of phosphide-based optical devices suitable for monolithic integration onto pre-fabricated GaAs MESFET chips resulting in a M.S.E.E. thesis titled "Phosphide-Based Optical Emitters for Monolithic Integration with GaAs MESFETs." As part of the OptoChip program, InGaP/GaAs LEDs were grown and fabricated within the dielectric growth wells of GaAs MESFET circuits. He is currently employed at Peregrine Semiconductor Inc.
